Andy Kochenour began his  professional career as featured soloist and tuba player with the United States Continental Army Band at Fort Monroe, Virginia. His early training included the public schools of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and the music department of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he studied tuba with Dr. Gary Bird. Many honors throughout his youth included being a finalist in the TUBA solo competition and soloing with the Pittsburgh Symphony. He was featured in the Spring, 1997 TUBA Journal.  Andy represents King UMI as an endorsing artist and is available for group clinics and master classes at the Elementary, Middle, High, and College levels.  Andy is a founding member and president of the Dixie Power Trio, Inc. Andy can also be heard on Grammy Award nominated albums by John McCutcheon, radio commercials, various jazz CDs, and television documentaries.  He was featured on the Beltway Brass Quintet CD, "Holiday Drive".
